Client Q+A - Laura

Hola! Here I talk to one of my newest clients Laura, who has just begun her personal-trainer, get-fit, get-healthy, get-peachy journey!

Amy: When did you start training, and what was your motivation behind starting?

Laura: On 2 January 2020. Every year I have said the usual “this is my year”, but I have never been able to keep myself motivated. I have 2 young children and feel the weight and unhealthy diet I had was rubbing off on them. I also miss doing so much with feeling tired constantly.

Amy: What is your favourite exercise?

Laura: I love weights! Never used them before as I didn’t know what I was doing with them!

Amy: What is your number one tip for someone who is just starting out at the gym?

Laura: Your first session might be uncomfortable! If like me you felt like you shouldn’t be there and that everyone is looking at you, you soon begin to realise that you do deserve to be there and no one is looking at you!

Amy: What have you learned from your experience with me as your personal trainer?

Laura: I have the ability to do more than I thought I could. When I’m with you I feel a whole new confidence and my anxiety disappears. You make me feel so comfortable and you know my limits better than I do!

Amy: How has working on your health and fitness affected your life outside of the gym?

Laura: I do a lot more with the kids - I’m not tired and my appetite and diet is under control. I feel my performance at work has got better too, as I’m more alert and have more energy. I feel myself doing random squats just to get some extra ones in!!

Amy: Would you recommend personal training sessions to a friend?

Laura: 100% yes!!! You are amazing. I’ve managed to get to around 1 stone loss by myself in the past, but then lost motivation and put it all back on.

With you, I’ve now lost 16lb in 45 days and actually get a little excited about the gym because I now know how to correctly use the equipment. I need a gentle push every now and again and you give me that, because you believe in me – you know I can do it. It makes me believe I can.

When I’ve been to the gym in the past I’ve gone in totally blind and lost interest as I did the same thing day-in day-out. You mix it up and gives me exercises I enjoy.

I am SO looking forward to working more with Laura and so excited to see her ongoing results!
